R&D Assistant Manager, Beverages Product Development
Job Description • Lead the product development for energy drink, and build up the robust innovation pipeline and roadmap for China energy drink platform;
• Lead the technical pipeline development for functional ingredients including TCM, botanic, novel ingredients to support the ester innovation needs; • Build up the ingredient library to support the application for different category needs; • Build close connection with SCPI (sensory & consumer product insights) team, MKT insights team, innovation team to capture consumer insights, business needs and convert consumer needs with right technical approach; • Be responsible for the formula design, prototype prepare, stability track etc; • Build timely connect with SRA, microbe, food safety, QA to ensure the formula is well reviewed and robustness; • Build up close connection with life science team, external innovation team, SQA team and global R&D team to enrich the technical pipeline; • Collaborate with packaging team, commercial engineer team to ensure right process in lab prototyping; • Support the trial run in Pilot Plant, bottler plant to ensure process is well designed to ensure the product commercialization from lab to bottler plant; • Be responsible for the product COGS, and close connection with BU finance to ensure the P&L is on track in different stage; • Lead the technical project meeting to ensure project execution on track; • Follow the guidance from TSG (technical stage gate), TPR (technical peer review) to ensure project execution done right at first time;
Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Nutrition Science, Food Science, Pharmacy, TCM is preferred;
• 7+ years related experience for bachelor degree, 5+ years for master and 3+ year for PhD degree;
• Good knowledge in functional ingredients areas for application in food or beverage area;
• Good English skill in both oral & written;
• Capable of handling multiple projects in a methodical manner, able to work under pressure and within short deadlines;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, open-minded and good team player;
• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously;
• Goal-oriented, self-motivated, fast learning and passion for techniques;
